They are sorted by their profession.

No you can’t practice medicine just because your parents are medical doctors, you have to get a medical license yourself.

Same thing with the Professional Dogs.
What your parents did won’t get you in.
That neither of your parents passed won’t keep you out.

B) The Professional Dog Parties

1) The Helper Dogs
a) Guide dogs
b) Ear dogs
c) Fetch dogs
d) Power dogs
e) Visiting dogs
f) Alert dogs

2) The Sniffers Dogs
a) City trackers
b) Searchers
c) Scent matchers

3) The Police & Guard Dogs Parties
a) Watch dogs
b) Yard dogs
c) Police dogs
d) War dogs

4) The Stardog Party
This is all ONE party, but with separate events you can enter.
Some of these events are:

* Drill – the dog does: -sit, down, stand, stay; -come, heel;
-roll over on your back (like so you can groom the belly);
-play-bow on command (this is a useful greeting to teach your dog, he should perform it while facing another dog, and do it like he knows what it means);
-bed (go lay down on his bed, blanket, crate, or whatever he is taught is a dog bed.

* Circus Dog – the dog does tricks, you can use props, it has to be safe, you make up an act to perform.

* Theater Dog – not as athletic as circus dog, and you make up a story and dialog to go with it, you can act along with the dog and you can have several people (like your kids) in the play too. You have a set number of minutes to perform.

* Dancing – square dancing with dogs heeling and staying looks fun, and is fun to watch, doing it off leash must take a lot of training. I’ve heard of other kinds of dogs dancing, but I think the main idea is NOT to categorize, just let it be free-style and fun.

* Video dog – this one you can enter on line, you don’t have to take you dog to the show grounds.

Events might include:
** Smartest – where the dog does clever stuff like get food out of the fridge (extra points if he closes the door afterwards), or use the human toilet (extra points if he flushes afterward).
** Most Laughs – nothing painful or dangerous
** Oddest – off beat trick
** Multiple pets
You don’t win anything except bragging rights, but you don’t have to invest much.

5) Livestockdogs

a) Herding dogs, for: cattle, sheep or goats, fowl. Could herd cavies (guinea pigs), or balls – but those are a sport, not something useful.

b) Flockdogs (bonds with and protects livestock)

6) Draft Dogs

a) Sled dogs, both snow, and snowless (dirt-mushers and roadhowlers). But NOT racers, that is a SPORT not a Profession. A profession would be delivering papers, or entertaining people with a ride – like dogs entertaining their person with a ride, while the person entertains the dogs with a run.

b) Cartdogs – basically the same as wheelchairdogs (Powerdogs), since milkmen don’t use dogs to pull their milkcarts anymore (do milkmen have carts anymore? Do you even have a milkman – or do you get milk from the store yourself? Wow, talk about preserving the skill of butterchurning!)

c) Seadogs – dogs that don’t get seasick (most dogs don’t, but a ship’s cat is harder to get as not all cats like to go sailing), the dog must swim well – hopefully without splashing, have a coat that doesn’t get soggy, and like being in water and on a boat.

Useful training includes: holding a line tied to a small boat in his jaws while swimming to or from the ship, fetching a life vest or line to an overboard person, fetching something dropped into the ocean and being haulable back aboard, staying near and watchdogging a small boat on a beach,
and ‘seeing thru the water’ to bark if a shark or something is there.

Don’t know if dogs ‘see thru’, or just smell what’s there, or if they hear something slicing thru the water, but if your dog wont go in the water, or looks into the water at something, or heads for the shore – I’d leave too just to be on the safe side.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL DOG PARTIES
Sure dogs can do other useful stuff, but remember the diff between a profession (useful) and a sport (competition just to compete to win).
